Glucose (C6H12O6, Mr = 180.2 g / mol) is a monosaccharide, a single sugar. It is a white, crystalline powder with a sweet taste and is easily soluble in water. The drug additionally defines glucose monohydrate (x 1 H 2 O), which contains a molecule of water.
